October 2017 Feed-in Tariff announced at 4.00p/kWh

Solar Panels

The new Feed-in Tariff (FiT) rates have been released by Ofgem. These will be in effect between 1 October and 31 December 2017.

The new generation tariff sits at 4.00p/kWh (previously 4.07p/kWh).

This is in line with the quarterly degression that applies to these rates.

The Export Tariff has remained the same at 5.03p/kWh.

Capacity FiT Rate (p/kWh)
0-10kW 4.00
10-50kW 4.22
50-250kW 1.89
250kW-1000kW 1.54
>1MW 0.38
Stand alone 0.23

You can find a full list of the rates on the official Ofgem website. Alternatively you can also learn more about how the FiT works in our own handy guide to the Feed-in Tariff.

Deployment caps in 2017

Deployments caps were implemented at the start of 2016. These apply to applications for the FiT in 2017 and moving forward. This is to keep the FiT within the budget, and once that cap is reached there will be no further installations eligible for the Generation Tariff in that quarter, with any remaining applications in the queue still being placed into a queue for the next FiT rates instead. We advise getting your application in as soon as possible to try and get the current FiT rate.

If you would like to benefit from the current FiT rates your solar PV system must be installed by an MCS certified installer. Solar Guide only works with MCS certified companies and you can receive your free no obligation solar quotes by filling in our quick online form.
