IMPORTANT notice about this article: Please note that the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme closed to new applications on March 31st 2019.

Avonline PLC is one of the UK’s largest and most successful installation companies.

The Bristol-based business was first established in 1981 and has continued to grow ever since. The company now employs over 400 staff and in 2010 carried out installation, servicing and support for over 250,000 nationwide customers.

Avonline’s SunShare scheme began on January 17, 2011 and is available to UK homeowners with south facing roofs, free from obstructions.

The incentive allows homeowners to take advantage of solar panel installations at a lower cost. Qualifying homes receive their solar panel installation at a reduced cost on behalf of SunShare. This could be as little as £3,999. Furthermore, installation comes with 25 years free maintenance.

Under the scheme’s conditions, SunShare have ownership of the installation until 10, 15 or 20 years after it was first complete. The homeowner can purchase their installation outright after this period. As well as the advantage of free electricity, SunShare customers have the added benefits of the Government’s Feed-In Tariff (FiT), which works alongside this scheme. Any payments received from the Feed-In Tariff (FiT) are divided between SunShare and the customer, with the rate decided on between 30-50%.
