New solar PV mounting system launched

By Katie Anderson on May 24, 2012

A leading company in the solar PV mounting systems market has announced the launch of a new product which will ensure a more precise fitting.

Designed specifically for roofs in the UK, Coventry-based Mount Solar is a manufacturer and supplier of mounting systems and they have designed a new set of four stainless steel solar roof anchors which are capable of accommodating even the narrowest of rafters.

The launch follows a £20,000 investment in product development which lasted for 6 months, alongside industry consultation and product testing. The roof anchors, which has been patented, has been approved by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors and has passed the Building Research Establishment’s independent tests in accordance with MCS012.

“The new anchors have been specifically designed to provide an adaptable mounting system for all solar panel installations where rafters can be as narrow as 35mm,” explained Mount Solar’s managing director Dan Pearson.

Alongside the standard roof anchor, the company has also designed an extended version which features a longer arm and height adjustable versions. So all varieties of UK roofs had be accommodated.

“Consequently, the fitting is more precise and saves valuable installation time.”

Mount Solar was established in 2009. They were the UK’s first specialist solar mounting system company.

Did you know?

Earn Money via the Feed-In TarrifThe Government's Feed-In Tariff was launched on April 1st 2010 to encourage homeowners to generate their own electricity - it is split into two methods of revenue.

The Generation Tariff earns you a fixed income for every kilowatt hour of electricity you generate. And, The Export Tariff earns you income for every kilowatt hour you generate and sell back to the grid.

An average 3/4 bedroom house fitted with 2.5kw Solar PV panels and normal electricity usage would earn over £850 p/a tax free!

Add this to an approximate £145 reduction in your electricity usage and you could benefit by over £1,000 per year.
